50 Powerful Prayer Points Against Unfriendly Friends With Bible Verses

Introduction
An unfriendly friend is someone who pretends to be your friend but secretly works against your interests. Proverbs 27:6 warns that the wounds of a faithful friend are different from the deceitful kisses of an enemy.
Not every difficult friendship is necessarily demonic, and not every disagreement means someone is your enemy. However, the Bible clearly warns believers to exercise discernment concerning betrayal, deception, gossip, ungodly influence and destructive associations.
Jesus Himself experienced betrayal from someone close to Him. Judas walked with Jesus, heard His teachings and witnessed His miracles, yet eventually betrayed Him.
Psalm 41:9 says:
“Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.”
This is why believers need wisdom, discernment, boundaries and spiritual vigilance.
The Bible says in Matthew 7:16, “Ye shall know them by their fruits.”
The purpose of these prayers is therefore to ask God to expose hidden agendas, separate us from destructive relationships, protect our destiny, heal the damage caused by betrayal, and give us wisdom to recognize trustworthy relationships.
WHO IS AN UNFRIENDLY FRIEND?
1. An unfriendly friend is a backbiter.
This is someone who speaks negatively about you behind your back while pretending to support you.
2. An unfriendly friend can be a traitor.
The example of Judas demonstrates how someone close to a person can become a source of betrayal.
3. An unfriendly friend is a betrayer.
Jesus experienced betrayal from someone within His circle.
4. An unfriendly friend may try to drag you back into worldly living.
James 4:4 warns against friendship with the world when that friendship pulls a believer away from God.
5. An unfriendly friend is one who digs a pit for you to fall into.
Instead of helping you succeed, such a person secretly works toward your downfall.
6. An unfriendly friend may continually misjudge you.
Job's friends repeatedly accused and misunderstood him during his affliction.
7. An unfriendly friend exposes your weaknesses instead of protecting your dignity.
A trustworthy friend does not deliberately expose private matters to embarrass you.
8. An unfriendly friend can become a satanic broadcaster.
Such a person spreads confidential information, gossip and damaging stories.
Proverbs 15:28 says:
“The heart of the righteous studieth how to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.”
9. An unfriendly friend joins others to conspire against you.
Hidden alliances and unhealthy gatherings can become instruments of conflict.
10. An unfriendly friend is full of envy.
Instead of celebrating your progress, such a person becomes uncomfortable when you succeed.
11. An unfriendly friend does not genuinely wish you well.
They may smile publicly while secretly hoping that your plans fail.
12. An unfriendly friend can exert an unhealthy influence on your life.
Wrong associations can influence your values, decisions, relationships and spiritual life.
13. An unfriendly friend covets what you have.
Even when such a person possesses good things of their own, they may constantly desire what belongs to you.
14. An unfriendly friend always wants to be ahead of you.
Healthy friendship does not require one person to continually diminish another.
15. An unfriendly friend is disloyal.
They cannot be trusted with confidential matters or important responsibilities.
16. An unfriendly friend may have a secret agenda.
Their intentions may appear friendly while their actions continually work against your interests.
17. An unfriendly friend may shed crocodile tears.
Such a person may sympathize publicly but secretly rejoice over your difficulties.
18. An unfriendly friend may divert you from profitable opportunities.
They may encourage decisions that repeatedly lead to unnecessary loss or disappointment.
19. An evil friendship can carry destructive intentions.
The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:33:
“Evil communications corrupt good manners.”
20. An unfriendly friend may pretend to love you while secretly working against you.
This is why discernment is important.
21. An unfriendly friend may become uncomfortable with your progress.
Rather than encouraging your advancement, they may attempt to discourage or undermine you.
22. An unfriendly friend is deceptive and unreliable.
A friendship without trust becomes a source of continual vulnerability.
23. An unfriendly friend may withhold useful information while directing you toward unprofitable things.
Wisdom is needed when receiving advice from others.
24. In short, an unfriendly friend is an unprofitable friendship.
Not every relationship deserves unlimited access to your life.
25. An unfriendly friend may circulate your name for evil.
Therefore, pray that God will expose every hidden agenda and give you wisdom concerning relationships.
Pray against destructive and unprofitable friendships. Ask the Holy Spirit to expose what needs to be exposed, separate you from relationships that are harmful, and keep you from becoming an unhealthy friend yourself. Pray also for the restoration of anything damaged through betrayal, deception or wrong association.
BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF BETRAYAL AND UNFRIENDLY ASSOCIATIONS
Judas and Jesus
Judas was physically close to Jesus but eventually betrayed Him.
Luke 22:47–48 records the betrayal.
This teaches us that physical closeness does not always mean genuine loyalty.
David and Ahithophel
Ahithophel had been associated with David but later joined Absalom's rebellion.
2 Samuel 15:31 shows David praying when he heard that Ahithophel had joined the conspiracy.
Joseph and His Brothers
Joseph experienced betrayal from people who were supposed to be closest to him.
Yet God eventually turned the situation around.
Genesis 50:20 declares:
“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good.”
Paul and His Opponents
Paul repeatedly encountered opposition, betrayal and abandonment during his ministry.
Yet he continued to trust God.
2 Timothy 4:18 declares:
“And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work.”
WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT FRIENDSHIP AND DISCERNMENT
The Bible does not teach believers to become suspicious of everybody. Instead, it teaches us to walk in love, wisdom and discernment.
Proverbs 13:20 says:
“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
Your associations can influence your direction.
Proverbs 12:26 says:
“The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.”
The right people around you can encourage righteousness, wisdom and growth.
The wrong associations can encourage compromise, confusion and destructive decisions.
Therefore, ask God for the wisdom described in James 1:5:
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God…”

Thank God for your life, protection, relationships and everything He is about to accomplish through these prayers.
B. Confess Your Sins
Confess every known and unknown sin before God. Ask for mercy and repent sincerely.
Where appropriate, ask God to help you break unhealthy patterns that have existed within your family or relationships.
C. Praise and Worship
Spend time praising and worshipping God before beginning the warfare prayers.

- Father, remove from my life every relationship that continually leads me away from Your purpose, in the name of Jesus.
- Every evil counsel given to me to destroy my future, be exposed and cancelled, in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, surround me with trustworthy, godly and faithful people who will contribute positively to my life, in the name of Jesus.
- Every trap disguised as friendship, escape my life now, in the name of Jesus.
- Father, restore my peace, confidence, opportunities and progress wherever betrayal or destructive relationships have caused damage, in the name of Jesus.
- I receive divine wisdom to establish healthy boundaries and make sound decisions concerning every relationship in my life, in the name of Jesus.
