I confess that the Lord is the source of my breakthrough.

According to Isaiah 48:17, the Lord teaches me to profit and leads me in the way I should go.
According to Psalm 102:13, my appointed time of favour shall come.
I shall not remain in the same place forever.
I shall advance.
I shall move forward.
I shall possess my possessions.
Every stubborn limitation around my life shall break.
Every satanic embargo against my progress shall be lifted.
Every door ordained by God for me shall open.
Every opportunity that belongs to me shall locate me.
My helpers shall locate me.
My destiny shall not be buried.
My glory shall not be quenched.
My labour shall not be wasted.
I shall eat the fruit of my labour.
I shall testify of the goodness of the Lord.

INTRODUCTION
Breakthroughs come in different areas of life, including marriage, career, ministry, business, health, finances and academics.
Breakthrough also means different things to different people.
For the hungry man, provision of food is a breakthrough.
For the man in prison, freedom is his breakthrough.
For the unemployed person, employment can be a breakthrough.
For someone struggling in business, a major business opportunity can be a breakthrough.
For someone trusting God for marriage, finding the right spouse can be a breakthrough.
For a student, academic success can be a breakthrough.
For someone already experiencing success, another level of advancement can represent another breakthrough.

Psalm 75:6–7 says:
“For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge…”

WHAT IS BREAKTHROUGH?
Breakthrough can mean:

- Breakthrough is abundance of helpers.

CAUSES OF LACK OF BREAKTHROUGH
There are various factors that can contribute to a lack of progress or breakthrough in a person's life. We will briefly consider them.
1. SIN — JEREMIAH 5:25
Jeremiah 5:25 says:
“Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.”
Sin can disrupt fellowship with God and can have consequences in a person's life.
Therefore, repentance is important.
1 John 1:9 says:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins…”
2. WORKING BY SIGHT AND NOT BY FAITH
This happens when you fail to appropriate the Word of God to your situation and choose instead to walk only by feelings, circumstances and emotions.
2 Corinthians 5:7 says:
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Faith does not mean ignoring wisdom or reality. It means trusting God while taking the steps He requires.
3. LIVING IN THE FLESH RATHER THAN WALKING IN THE SPIRIT
Galatians 5:16 says:
“Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

8. SPIRITUAL CONTAMINATION/POLLUTION — ZECHARIAH 3:1–3
Zechariah 3 presents a picture of Joshua the high priest standing before the Lord in filthy garments.
God dealt with the accusation and commanded that the filthy garments be removed.

9. SPIRITUAL FATNESS — DEUTERONOMY 32:15
Deuteronomy 32:15 warns against becoming spiritually complacent and forgetting God.
