HOW TO PRAY WHEN YOU FEEL SPIRITUALLY WEAK

A Deliverance Warfare Teaching

Spiritual weakness is one of the enemy's favorite opportunities to launch attacks against believers. It is a condition where your prayer life becomes dry, your desire for God's Word diminishes, your faith seems small, temptation becomes stronger, and discouragement appears overwhelming. Yet, spiritual weakness does not mean God has abandoned you. In fact, throughout Scripture, God often strengthened His servants at their weakest moments.

The devil seeks to convince believers that weakness is defeat. However, the Bible teaches that God's strength is perfected in weakness.

"My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness."
— 2 Corinthians 12:9

When you feel spiritually weak, do not withdraw from prayer. Run into prayer. The battlefield is not won by the naturally strong but by those who depend upon God.

WHY BELIEVERS BECOME SPIRITUALLY WEAK

Spiritual weakness may come through:

• prolonged spiritual battles
• disappointment
• sin and compromise
• prayerlessness
• neglect of God's Word
• fear
• emotional exhaustion
• waiting too long for answered prayers
• attacks from the kingdom of darkness

The enemy understands that a weak believer is easier to discourage, tempt, and distract.

Jesus warned His disciples:

"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

— Matthew 26:41

BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE WHO FELT SPIRITUALLY WEAK

1. Elijah

After calling down fire from heaven, Elijah became discouraged and ran into the wilderness.

1 Kings 19:1–18

Instead of condemning him, God strengthened him through rest, food, His presence, and fresh direction.

Lesson:
God restores weary warriors.

2. David

David experienced seasons of depression and discouragement.

Psalm 42 says,

"Why art thou cast down, O my soul?... hope thou in God."

David learned to encourage himself in God.

3. Jesus in Gethsemane

Even Jesus experienced deep agony before the cross.

Instead of giving up,
He prayed more earnestly.

An angel came to strengthen Him.

Prayer attracted strength.

4. Paul

Paul endured persecutions, imprisonments, and hardships.

Instead of quitting, he relied upon God's grace.

5. Samson

Samson became spiritually weak because he neglected his covenant with God.

Judges 16

Yet when he cried to God in repentance, God gave him strength once again.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU FEEL SPIRITUALLY WEAK

1. Admit your condition before God.

Do not pretend to be spiritually strong.

God gives grace to the humble.

2. Pray honestly.

God desires sincere prayer more than impressive words.

3. Read the Word.

God's Word restores spiritual strength.

Jeremiah declared:

"Thy words were found, and I did eat them..."

4. Worship before warfare.

Praise shifts your attention from your weakness to God's greatness.

5. Pray in faith.

Faith does not deny weakness.

Faith believes God is stronger than weakness.

6. Wait upon the Lord.

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength..."

1. O Lord, breathe fresh life into my spirit, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every spirit of spiritual weakness assigned against my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
3. My inner man, receive divine strength, in the name of Jesus.
4. Holy Spirit, revive my prayer altar, in the name of Jesus.
5. Every power draining my spiritual strength, be destroyed, in the name of Jesus.
6. Fire of the Holy Ghost, consume every spiritual laziness in my life, in the name of Jesus.
7. Every satanic chain binding my prayer life, break, in the name of Jesus.
8. O Lord, renew my strength like the eagle's, in the name of Jesus.
9. Every power assigned to weaken my faith, scatter, in the name of Jesus.
10. I reject every garment of discouragement, in the name of Jesus.
11. Every arrow of spiritual exhaustion, come out of my life, in the name of Jesus.
12. My spiritual eyes, open by fire, in the name of Jesus.
13. My spiritual ears, hear the voice of God clearly, in the name of Jesus.
14. Every evil burden upon my spirit, be lifted, in the name of Jesus.
15. Lord, restore my first love for You, in the name of Jesus.
16. Every altar fighting my spiritual growth, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
17. O God, revive my hunger for Your Word, in the name of Jesus.
18. Every demonic veil covering my spiritual understanding, tear apart, in the name of Jesus.
19. I receive fresh oil for prayer, in the name of Jesus.
20. Every spirit of prayerlessness, depart from me, in the name of Jesus.
21. Holy Spirit, empower me to overcome temptation, in the name of Jesus.
22. Every evil covenant working against my spiritual life, break, in the name of Jesus.
23. Let every yoke of spiritual oppression be broken, in the name of Jesus.
24. Every spirit of fear assigned against me, leave now, in the name of Jesus.
25. O Lord, strengthen me in every area where I have become weak, in the name of Jesus.
26. I receive grace to persevere in prayer, in the name of Jesus.
27. Every satanic distraction against my devotion, be removed, in the name of Jesus.
28. Every hidden trap prepared for my spiritual downfall, fail, in the name of Jesus.
29. Lord, restore every lost spiritual virtue, in the name of Jesus.
30. Every voice speaking defeat into my life, be silenced, in the name of Jesus.
31. I overcome spiritual dryness by the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus.
32. Every demonic embargo upon my spiritual progress, break, in the name of Jesus.
33. O Lord, establish me in righteousness, in the name of Jesus.
34. Let every weapon of darkness against my prayer life be destroyed, in the name of Jesus.
35. Father, fill me afresh with the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus.
36. Every spirit of unbelief, depart from me, in the name of Jesus.
37. My destiny shall not be weakened by satanic attacks, in the name of Jesus.
38. Every inherited pattern of spiritual decline, be broken, in the name of Jesus.
39. Lord, strengthen my hands for spiritual warfare, in the name of Jesus.
40. Every power mocking my spiritual life, be put to shame, in the name of Jesus.
41. I receive divine boldness to stand firm in Christ, in the name of Jesus.
42. Every cloud of confusion over my mind, clear away, in the name of Jesus.
43. Let the joy of the Lord become my strength, in the name of Jesus.
44. Every power assigned to steal my peace, fail, in the name of Jesus.
45. O Lord, make me steadfast, immovable, and always abounding in Your work, in the name of Jesus.
46. Every attack against my spiritual discipline, be frustrated, in the name of Jesus.
47. Father, surround me with Your favor and protection, in the name of Jesus.
48. I shall finish my Christian race with strength and faithfulness, in the name of Jesus.
49. My life shall continually reflect the power and glory of God, in the name of Jesus.
50. Father, by Your mighty power, renew my strength daily until I fulfill Your purpose for my life, in the name of Jesus.

May the Lord strengthen your heart, renew your spirit, and establish you in steadfast faith as you seek Him in prayer.
