INTRODUCTION
The phrase “evil powers of my father's house” is commonly used in Christian deliverance prayers to describe perceived spiritual opposition connected with a person's paternal family line, ancestral history, family patterns, covenants, occult practices or foundational problems.
Many people seek prayer when they notice persistent patterns such as repeated failure, stagnation, destructive family cycles, unexplained opposition, recurring affliction, broken relationships, financial difficulty or other problems that appear to run through generations.
The purpose of these prayers is not to accuse particular family members or blame every difficulty on one's ancestry.
Instead, bring the matter before God and ask Him to expose, break and remove anything contrary to His will.
The Bible teaches that Christ has redeemed believers, and that our confidence is in God rather than in fear of family history.

In deliverance language, father's house usually refers to the paternal family line and the spiritual or generational patterns associated with it.

The Bible contains passages describing consequences that can affect generations, but it also makes clear that individuals are accountable before God and can turn to Him.
Ezekiel 18:20 teaches that the person who sins is responsible for his or her own sin.

Gideon described his family as being from the weakest clan in Manasseh, yet God called him to deliver Israel.

Jabez's beginning was marked by pain, but he cried to God for enlargement and blessing.

His story demonstrates that a painful beginning does not have to determine the end of a person's life.
