INTRODUCTION

Satan is the enemy and, in the language of spiritual warfare, a fowler who seeks to set traps against the lives of God's people.

He uses different weapons, temptations, schemes, and agents to disturb people's lives, particularly those who are seeking to walk with God.

The Bible gives us a clear picture of spiritual warfare:

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world.” — Ephesians 6:12

The enemy does not always attack openly.

Sometimes a trap is hidden.

Sometimes an opportunity appears attractive but conceals danger.

Sometimes a wrong relationship becomes a snare.

Sometimes an ungodly decision creates consequences that are difficult to escape.

Sometimes temptation is presented at exactly the point of a person's weakness.

That is why the Bible repeatedly warns us to be watchful.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” — 1 Peter 5:8

Snares can be hidden for a long time.

They can be positioned to catch a person at an unguarded moment.

They can target different areas of life, including:

• Your soul.
• Your potentials.
• Your talents.
• Your virtues.
• Your health.
• Your relationships.
• Your marriage.
• Your opportunities.
• Your finances.
• Your career.
• Your ministry.
• Your spiritual life.
• Your destiny.

The purpose of this prayer programme is to cry unto God for deliverance from every evil snare and every trap that has been prepared against your life.

That trap will not catch you.

That net will not hold you.

That pit will not swallow you.

That evil agenda will not prevail over you, in the name of Jesus.

WHAT IS THE TRAP OF THE FOWLER?

The Bible says:

“Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler.” — Psalm 91:3

A fowler is someone who hunts birds using traps, nets, snares, or other methods designed to capture them.

Spiritually, the picture represents hidden schemes intended to capture, restrict, entangle, weaken, delay, or destroy.

A snare can be:

1. A weapon of the enemy.
2. A hidden trap intended to take you by surprise.
3. A net designed to catch and hold you.
4. A pit dug to swallow you.
5. A weapon designed to entangle your movement.
6. A carefully prepared scheme designed to exploit vulnerability.

The enemy may attempt to use temptation, deception, fear, ungodly relationships, wrong decisions, compromise, or spiritual attacks as snares.

But God is able to expose the trap before it catches you.

“The snare is broken, and we are escaped.” — Psalm 124:7

PRAYER

Every trap set to make me a nobody, catch your owner and release me now, in the name of Jesus.

WHO IS THE FOWLER?

In spiritual warfare, the fowler represents the enemy who seeks to trap and destroy.

The Bible warns about:

• The devil.
• Evil schemes.
• Wicked people.
• Envious people.
• Evil pursuers.
• Satanic hunters.
• Witches and occultic powers.

The important thing is not to live in fear of people.

Our confidence must remain in God.

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” — Psalm 27:1

God is greater than every power operating against His children.

HOW THE ENEMY SETS TRAPS

A trap often works because it is hidden.

The enemy may attempt to use something attractive to draw a person into danger.

Samson is a powerful biblical example.

His weakness involving ungodly relationships eventually became an avenue through which his enemies gained access to him.

Judges 16:19–21 records the tragic consequences of Samson's compromise.

The lesson is important:

Do not allow a temporary attraction to destroy a permanent purpose.

Not every attractive opportunity is from God.

Not every relationship is beneficial.

Not every invitation should be accepted.

Not every door should be entered.

This is why we need divine wisdom and discernment.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

AGENDA OF EVIL TRAPS AND SNARES

The enemy's traps may be designed to:

1. Cause injury.
2. Destroy a person.
3. Ground or arrest movement.
4. Entangle a person in destructive circumstances.
5. Cause loss of belongings.
6. Cause loss of position.
7. Reduce a person to begging.
8. Take a person from grace to grass.
9. Bury a person's head and glory.
10. Cause loss in different areas of life.
11. Move a person from the head to the tail.
12. Bring a person into captivity.
13. Bring sickness and affliction.
14. Cause premature death.
15. Produce prolonged suffering.
16. Create confusion and mental oppression.
17. Prevent a person from becoming what God ordained them to become.
18. Destroy potentials.
19. Vandalize glory, as happened in Samson's life.

But the purpose of this teaching is not to make you afraid.

It is to make you watchful, prayerful, discerning, and dependent upon God.

THE TRAP WILL NOT PREVAIL

The Bible says:

“He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.” — Job 5:12

There are plans that the enemy may make which God will frustrate.

There are nets that may be prepared which God will cause you to escape.

There are evil schemes that will never come to manifestation.

Therefore, pray:

Father, expose every hidden trap before it catches me.

HOW DO EVIL TRAPS OPERATE?

There are different ways people can become vulnerable to destructive situations.

1. EVIL OR UNWISE GIFTS

Be discerning about gifts and objects you receive.

Do not live in fear, but do not accept everything blindly.

Pray over what enters your home and life.

2. YOUR ENVIRONMENT

Where you live, work, worship, and spend your time can influence your choices and relationships.

Ask God for wisdom concerning your environment.

3. LIFESTYLE AND TEMPTATION

Drunkenness, sexual immorality, smoking, adultery, and other destructive habits can expose a person to serious consequences.

The Bible says:

“Flee fornication.” — 1 Corinthians 6:18

4. EVIL ASSOCIATION

Wrong relationships can become traps.

“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” — 1 Corinthians 15:33

5. UNWISE PLACES AND ACTIVITIES

Be discerning about the places you visit and the activities in which you participate.

6. FINANCIAL DEPENDENCY AND UNWISE BORROWING

Borrowing and unhealthy financial dependency can create bondage.

“The borrower is servant to the lender.” — Proverbs 22:7

Seek wisdom in financial matters and avoid unnecessary bondage.

7. WRONG DECISIONS

Sometimes a person enters a difficult situation through a decision made without prayer or wisdom.

This is why divine direction is essential.

“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:6

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF EVIL TRAPS?

Evil traps and destructive decisions can result in:

1. Blocked opportunities.
2. Loss of progress.
3. Slow progress.
4. Sickness and affliction.
5. Spiritual weakness.
6. Destructive consequences.
7. Untimely danger.
8. Caging of opportunities and potentials.
9. Failure.
10. Loss of spiritual strength.
11. Prolonged suffering.

Samson's experience demonstrates how compromise can produce devastating consequences.

“And she made him sleep upon her knees... and his strength went from him.” — Judges 16:19

The enemy's trap is not something to play with.

We need spiritual vigilance.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH EVIL TRAPS?

1. GIVE YOUR LIFE TO JESUS CHRIST

Make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior.

Not everybody deserves access to your private matters.

Be wise about what you eat, drink, watch, listen to, and participate in.

10. WATCH YOUR WORDS

Do not reveal everything about your life to everyone.

Regularly commit your life, family, destiny, work, and possessions to God.

12. AVOID UNNECESSARY FINANCIAL BONDAGE

Seek wisdom concerning borrowing, lending, and financial commitments.
