INTRODUCTION: GOD SEES THE TEARS YOU HIDE FROM EVERYONE
There are battles people fight that nobody knows about.
There are tears that fall behind closed doors, burdens hidden beneath a smiling face, and painful experiences that cannot easily be explained.
Some people appear strong in public but are deeply troubled in private. They encourage others while secretly needing encouragement themselves. They pray for other people while carrying wounds that have remained unhealed for years.
Perhaps you have experienced rejection, betrayal, disappointment, family conflict, financial hardship, prolonged illness, or repeated setbacks.
You may have cried through the night, wiped your tears before morning, and continued your responsibilities as though nothing happened.
You may have asked yourself:
Does God know what I am going through?
Why does nobody understand my pain?
Will these tears ever come to an end?
Can God restore the joy I have lost?
How do I recover from years of disappointment?
Why do I feel forgotten even when I continue praying?
Beloved, hear the Word of the Lord:
Your suffering may be hidden from people, but it is not hidden from God.
Psalm 56:8 reveals that God knows the wanderings and tears of His people.
He is not indifferent to your suffering. He sees the burden you cannot explain, understands the prayers you struggle to express, and remains near to the brokenhearted.
However, God's awareness of your pain does not mean you must endure everything alone. He can strengthen you through Scripture, prayer, trustworthy relationships, professional support, and practical steps toward healing.
This message is not merely about receiving comfort while remaining under the weight of prolonged sorrow.
It is also a call to spiritual restoration, freedom from destructive strongholds, renewed faith, and victory over every influence that seeks to keep your heart imprisoned in despair.
Today, we shall confront the powers of darkness that exploit wounds, reinforce fear, promote hopelessness, and resist spiritual restoration. We shall also ask God to heal hidden pain and restore the strength, peace, and joy that suffering has weakened.
Your tears are not invisible before the throne of grace.
And your present sorrow does not have to become your permanent identity.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO STRUGGLE SILENTLY?
Struggling silently means experiencing significant emotional, spiritual, physical, relational, or financial difficulties without openly sharing the full weight of those challenges.
Some people remain silent because they fear being misunderstood. Others have experienced betrayal after trusting someone with personal information.
Some do not want to burden their families. Others have become accustomed to appearing strong.
Silent struggles may include the following.
1. Hidden Emotional Pain
A person may carry deep wounds caused by rejection, betrayal, humiliation, or painful experiences.
Psalm 147:3 reveals God's concern for broken hearts.
2. Unspoken Family Problems
Family disagreements, marital difficulties, or unresolved conflicts can produce emotional burdens that are difficult to discuss publicly.
Psalm 133:1 reminds believers of the goodness of unity.
3. Secret Financial Hardship
Someone may appear financially comfortable while privately struggling with debt, unemployment, or the inability to meet essential needs.
Psalm 46:1 declares God to be our refuge and strength.
4. Prolonged Disappointment
Repeated disappointments may weaken confidence and cause a person to question whether circumstances will ever improve.
Proverbs 13:12 acknowledges the painful effect of deferred hope.
5. Spiritual Weariness
A believer may continue attending church and participating in ministry while privately experiencing discouragement, doubt, or spiritual exhaustion.
Isaiah 40:29 teaches that God gives power to the faint.
6. Grief and Personal Loss
The death of a loved one, broken relationships, or other significant losses can leave emotional wounds that require time and support.
Matthew 5:4 declares a blessing upon those who mourn.
7. Fear of Being Judged
Some people remain silent because they worry that others will misunderstand their difficulties or question their faith.
Galatians 6:2 calls believers to bear one another's burdens.
Not every silent struggle is caused by a demonic attack. Emotional pain, grief, trauma, and discouragement are genuine human experiences. Seeking qualified professional help when needed is consistent with taking wise steps toward healing.
WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT HIDDEN PAIN AND TEARS
1. God Sees Tears That Others Do Not See

"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength."
When your strength is exhausted, God remains a source of sustaining grace.

Matthew 11:28
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Christ invites the weary to approach Him rather than surrender to hopelessness.

This promise strengthens our hope even while earthly suffering continues.
BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE WHO SUFFERED IN SILENCE OR DEEP SORROW
1. Hannah: God Heard Her Silent Prayer
1 Samuel 1:10–20
Hannah endured years of sorrow because of her barrenness and the provocation she experienced.
She went before the Lord in bitterness of soul and prayed with tears.
Her lips moved, but her voice was not heard.
Eli initially misunderstood her condition, but God heard her prayer.
In time, Hannah conceived and gave birth to Samuel.
Lesson: God understands prayers that cannot be expressed in audible words.
2. Hagar: God Saw Her in the Wilderness
Genesis 16:7–13; Genesis 21:14–19
Hagar experienced mistreatment, rejection, and hardship.
When she found herself in the wilderness, God met her in her distress.
She called Him the God who sees.
Lesson: Rejection by people does not place anyone beyond God's knowledge and care.
3. David: God Sustained Him Through Tears and Distress
Psalm 6:6–9
David described his grief in deeply emotional language.
He spoke of weariness, groaning, and tears.
Yet he continued to cry unto the Lord.
Lesson: Genuine faith does not require pretending that pain does not exist.
4. Elijah: God Strengthened Him During Exhaustion
1 Kings 19:1–18
After confronting the prophets of Baal, Elijah became fearful and overwhelmed.
He fled into the wilderness and expressed deep despair.
God provided food, rest, reassurance, and renewed direction.
Lesson: Spiritual exhaustion requires compassionate care, rest, and renewed strength, not condemnation.
5. Joseph: God Was With Him Through Betrayal and Injustice
Genesis 37:23–28; Genesis 39:20–23; Genesis 45:1–15
Joseph suffered betrayal by his brothers, slavery, false accusation, and imprisonment.
His years of hardship did not mean God had abandoned him.
Eventually, Joseph received an opportunity to serve in a position of authority in Egypt.
Lesson: Painful experiences need not destroy a person's future or capacity to serve God.
6. The Woman With the Issue of Blood: Jesus Responded to Her Suffering
Mark 5:25–34
This woman endured twelve years of illness and significant hardship.
She approached Jesus believing that touching His garment would bring healing.
Jesus acknowledged her faith and addressed her with compassion.
Lesson: Christ is not indifferent to suffering that has continued for years.
SPIRITUAL STRONGHOLDS THAT CAN DEEPEN HIDDEN SUFFERING
The Bible teaches that believers must guard their hearts and resist spiritual opposition.
However, we must distinguish between ordinary emotional suffering and destructive spiritual influences.
The following attitudes and strongholds can deepen silent struggles.
1. The Stronghold of Hopelessness
Hopelessness convinces a person that nothing good can happen again.
Romans 15:13 describes God as the source of hope.
2. The Stronghold of Fear
Fear may prevent someone from seeking help, taking necessary steps, or trusting God.
2 Timothy 1:7 reminds believers that God has not given us a spirit of fear.
3. The Stronghold of Condemnation
Persistent self-condemnation can keep a person trapped in shame.
Romans 8:1 declares that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.
4. The Stronghold of Bitterness
Unresolved bitterness can damage relationships and disturb emotional peace.
Hebrews 12:15 warns against allowing bitterness to take root.
5. The Stronghold of Spiritual Discouragement
Prolonged hardship may tempt believers to abandon prayer, fellowship, and obedience.
Galatians 6:9 encourages believers not to become weary in doing good.
6. The Stronghold of Isolation
Isolation can make difficult experiences harder to bear.
Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 teaches the value of companionship and mutual support.
7. The Stronghold of Deception
The enemy seeks to undermine confidence in God's truth.
John 8:44 identifies the devil as a liar.
Believers must reject lies such as "God has abandoned me," "My life has no value," or "There is no hope for my future."
These destructive thoughts should be confronted with Scripture, wise counsel, and appropriate support rather than accepted as truth.
PRACTICAL WAYS TO EXPERIENCE GOD'S COMFORT AND RESTORATION
Bring your hidden pain before God. Speak honestly in prayer rather than suppressing every emotion. (Psalm 62:8)
Meditate on Scriptures about God's presence. Let His promises challenge feelings of abandonment. (Isaiah 41:10)
Reject self-condemnation. Receive God's forgiveness and walk in His truth. (Romans 8:1)
Seek trustworthy spiritual support. Share your burdens with mature, compassionate believers. (Galatians 6:2)
Maintain healthy boundaries. Forgiveness does not require remaining in an abusive or unsafe situation. (Proverbs 22:3)
Care for your physical and emotional wellbeing. Rest, healthy routines, and professional support may be important parts of recovery.
Resist spiritual discouragement. Continue praying, reading Scripture, and fellowshipping with believers. (James 4:7)
Release bitterness and resentment. Ask God for grace to pursue healing without denying the harm you experienced. (Ephesians 4:31–32)
Take practical steps toward restoration. Address unresolved problems, seek help, and rebuild relationships where safe and appropriate.
Trust God's sustaining grace. Healing may take time, but your present pain does not erase your value or your hope in Christ. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

PREPARING YOUR HEART BEFORE YOU PRAY
These are not ordinary words of encouragement. They are Scripture-based prayers for deliverance from oppressive spiritual influences, destructive emotional strongholds, fear, discouragement, and prolonged sorrow.
Before praying:
Surrender your life and burdens to Jesus Christ.
Confess your sins and receive God's forgiveness.
Renounce bitterness, revenge, hopelessness, and destructive thoughts.
Refuse to accept the lie that your life has no value.
Ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen your faith.
Read Psalm 56:8, Psalm 34:18, and Isaiah 61:3 aloud.
Pray with spiritual determination, trusting in the authority of Jesus Christ.
Do not direct these warfare prayers against particular people or assume that someone caused your suffering through witchcraft. The battle described in Ephesians 6:12 is not against flesh and blood.
