GOD IS DOING A NEW THING: 50 POWERFUL PRAYERS FOR A NEW BEGINNING WITH BIBLE VERSES
GOD IS DOING A NEW THING: 50 POWERFUL PRAYERS FOR A NEW BEGINNING WITH BIBLE VERSES
KEY SCRIPTURE
Isaiah 43:19
“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?”
This is a powerful declaration from God.
God is able to bring something new into a situation that appears old, stagnant, hopeless, or impossible.
He can create a way where there appears to be no way.
He can restore what has been damaged.
He can open doors that have been closed.
He can bring a person out of one season and into another.
The God who says, “Behold, I will do a new thing,” is still the God of transformation, restoration, breakthrough, and divine intervention.
If you have been asking God for a change in your life, this is a powerful time to pray.
WHAT DOES “GOD IS DOING A NEW THING” MEAN?
Isaiah 43:19 does not merely speak about receiving something new.
It speaks about God doing something that only He can do.
The Lord says:
“I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
A wilderness is a place where there appears to be no obvious path.
A desert is a place where there appears to be no sufficient water.
Yet God says He can make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
That means your present circumstances do not have to determine your future.
What looks impossible to you is not impossible to God.
Jesus said:
“The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” — Luke 18:27
Therefore, do not judge your future solely by what you see today.
God can begin a new thing at any time.
GOD CAN CHANGE YOUR SEASON
There are seasons of waiting.
There are seasons of preparation.
There are seasons of warfare.
There are seasons of restoration.
There are seasons of harvest.
There are seasons when God moves you into something completely new.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says:
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
If you have gone through a difficult season, do not assume that your entire life will remain that way.
God can change your story.
Joseph experienced betrayal, slavery, false accusation, and imprisonment.
Then suddenly, God changed his position.
Genesis 41:41 says:
“And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.”
The prison was not the end of Joseph's story.
It was part of the journey toward his new season.
GOD CAN MAKE A WAY WHERE THERE IS NO WAY
When Israel stood before the Red Sea, there appeared to be no way forward.
Behind them was Pharaoh's army.
Before them was the sea.
But God made a way.
Exodus 14:21 says:
“And the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.”
What looked like the end became the beginning of a new chapter.
The same God can make a way for you.
DO NOT LET YOUR PAST CONTROL YOUR FUTURE
One of the greatest obstacles to a new beginning can be continually living in the past.
God said through Isaiah:
“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.” — Isaiah 43:18
This does not mean that you should forget everything God has done.
It means that you should not allow yesterday to prevent you from recognizing what God is doing today.
Your past may explain where you have been.
It does not have to determine where God is taking you.
Paul said:
“Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” — Philippians 3:13
There is something ahead.
Keep moving.
GOD CAN GIVE YOU A NEW BEGINNING AFTER FAILURE
Peter denied Jesus three times.
Yet Peter's failure was not the end of his ministry.
Jesus restored him.
John 21:17 records Jesus asking Peter:
“Lovest thou me?”
Jesus gave Peter an opportunity to begin again.
Perhaps you have made mistakes.
Perhaps you have experienced failure.
Perhaps you have disappointed yourself.
Perhaps people have written you off.
But failure does not mean that God has finished with you.
Lamentations 3:22–23 says:
“It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed... They are new every morning.”
Every morning is another testimony that God's mercy has not expired.
GOD CAN RESTORE LOST YEARS
Joel 2:25 says:
“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.”
God is a restorer.
He can restore opportunities.
He can restore peace.
He can restore relationships according to His will.
He can restore purpose.
He can restore joy.
He can restore what has been damaged.
Restoration may not always look exactly like the past.
Sometimes God's restoration is better because He takes you into something new.
WHEN YOU NEED GOD TO DO A NEW THING
You may need a new beginning when:
- You have experienced repeated disappointment.
- You have been stuck in the same cycle for years.
- You have experienced repeated rejection.
- You have lost important opportunities.
- You are coming out of a difficult relationship.
- Your career has stagnated.
- Your business needs a breakthrough.
- Your family needs restoration.
- Your prayer life needs revival.
- You need divine direction.
- You are recovering from failure.
- You need a fresh start spiritually.
- You need God to open new doors.
- You are entering a new season of your life.
- You need freedom from destructive patterns.
- You need restoration after loss.
- You are waiting for your testimony.
Whatever your situation, bring it before God.
Psalm 30:5 says:
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Your night does not have to last forever.
PREPARING YOUR HEART FOR A NEW BEGINNING
Before praying these prayers:
- Surrender your life to God.
- Repent of known sin.
- Forgive those you need to forgive.
- Release the pain of the past.
- Renounce every occult practice.
- Break agreement with destructive patterns.
- Ask God for wisdom.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.
- Be willing to obey God's instructions.
- Believe that God is able to change your situation.
Proverbs 3:5–6 says:
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Sometimes God is doing something new before you can see it.
