INTRODUCTION

God hates idolatry, and many people in many parts of the world, including our ancestors, have worshipped idols to their own detriment and that of generations yet unborn.

Idolatry is a serious spiritual problem because it takes the place that belongs to God and turns the heart away from the worship of the Almighty.

The Bible repeatedly warns God's people against idols.

Exodus 20:3-5 says:

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

Idolatry provokes God to jealousy and kindles His anger because God alone deserves our worship.

When people go into idolatry, it is like they are entering into a spiritual bondage. It pollutes lives and makes people slaves to the powers they have chosen to serve.

The consequences of idolatry can affect generations. This is why the matter of family and ancestral idolatry should not be treated lightly.

Idolatry can become a chain that ties people to the past. Until that chain is confronted through repentance, faith in Jesus Christ and prayer, moving forward may become extremely difficult.

People who could have been winners, movers and shakers have been reduced to nothing because of the chains associated with idolatry.

There is continental idolatry, national idolatry, territorial idolatry and family idolatry.

There is something known as the evil power of a family idol. These represent what the original teaching describes as a satanic connection tying people to the past.

There are also the so-called angry idols of the father's house. According to this teaching, they demand worship and may become a source of harassment and terror when people refuse to serve them.

Refusal to serve idols, together with ignorance of how to confront their influence through faith in Christ, has led to destructive consequences in many lives and families.

FAMILY IDOLS AND ANCESTRAL ALTARS

Many families have historical connections with traditional religious practices.

Some ancestors may have made sacrifices, entered covenants or dedicated family members or properties to idols.

Genesis 31:30-35 records the incident involving Rachel and the household images.

In Judges 6:25, God instructed Gideon to tear down his father's altar to Baal and cut down the grove associated with it.

This shows that God can require the destruction of an altar that has become contrary to His worship.

Judges 6:26 then points Gideon toward building an altar to the Lord.

The lesson is clear: the altar of God must take the place of every competing altar.

IDOLATRY AND SPIRITUAL BONDAGE

The Bible teaches that God's people must completely reject idolatry.

1 Corinthians 10:14 says:

“Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.”

Idolatry is not merely about physical objects. It concerns anything that takes the place of God and receives the worship, trust and allegiance that belong to Him.

The purpose of these prayers is therefore to renounce every connection with idolatry, repent of ancestral involvement where applicable, reject every evil covenant and dedicate your life and household completely to Jesus Christ.

FAMILY IDOLS AND THE BATTLE FOR DESTINY

The original teaching describes family idols as a spiritual umbilical cord connecting people to the past.

It also describes situations where someone may be living far away from the place of their ancestry while family members remain involved in traditional worship.

Whether you live in Lagos, America, Russia or anywhere else, the answer is not fear.

The answer is Christ.

Colossians 1:13 says:

“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.”

Our confidence is therefore in the power of God.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT DESTROYING IDOLATRY

The Bible gives numerous examples of God's people destroying objects and practices associated with idolatry.

In Acts 19, people who had embraced the Gospel renounced their former occult practices and publicly demonstrated their rejection of those practices.

Acts 19:19 records that many who had practised curious arts brought their books together and burned them.

This demonstrated a decisive break with their former practices.

Likewise, Gideon was instructed to destroy the altar of Baal.

The message is one of separation:

Separate yourself from idolatry.

Separate your household from idolatry.

Renounce every evil covenant.

Reject every competing altar.

Give your life completely to Jesus Christ.

PRAYER PREPARATION

Before beginning these prayers:

A. Thank God

Thank God for your life and for what He will do in this program.

B. Confess and Repent

Confess every known and unknown sin and ask God for mercy.

Where there has been ancestral involvement in idolatry, renounce and repent of every connection that you personally participated in or accepted.

C. Quality Praise and Worship

Spend quality time praising and worshipping God before beginning the warfare prayers.

1. Blood of Jesus, deliver me and my family, in the name of Jesus.
2. Fire of deliverance, pass through my body, soul and spirit for total deliverance, in the name of Jesus.
3. Idol of my father's family troubling my life and family, lose your power and die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
4. Idol of my mother's family troubling my life and family, lose your power and die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
5. Any idol from my place of birth troubling my life and family, lose your power and die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
6. Any idol demanding my worship, lose your power, in the name of Jesus.
7. I break all ancestral covenants with any idol power, in the name of Jesus.
8. Every bitter water flowing in my family from any idol, dry up, in the name of Jesus.
9. Any rope tying my family line to any family idol, break, in the name of Jesus.
10. My God, my Father, turn the wrath of rejected family idols away from our family, in the name of Jesus.
11. Every outflow of satanic family name, die, in the name of Jesus.
12. I recover every benefit stolen by idol powers, in the name of Jesus.

SESSION TWO — DISGRACING FAMILY ALTARS

13. Where is the God of Elijah? Arise and disgrace every family idol, in the name of Jesus.
14. Every satanic priest ministering in my family line, be retrenched, in the name of Jesus.
15. Arrows of affliction originating from idolatry, loose your hold, in the name of Jesus.
16. Every influence of idol worship in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
17. Every network of idol power in my place of birth, scatter, in the name of Jesus.
18. Every satanic dedication that speaks against me, be dismantled by the power in the blood of Jesus.
19. I vomit every food with idolatrous influence that I have eaten, in the name of Jesus.
20. Every unconscious evil internal altar, be roasted, in the name of Jesus.
21. Let the stone of hindrance constructed by family idols be rolled away, in the name of Jesus.
22. The voice of foundational idols will never speak again, in the name of Jesus.
23. Every strongman assigned by the idols of my father's house against my life, lose your power and die, in the name of Jesus.

SESSION THREE — BREAKING FOUNDATIONAL BONDAGES

39. I speak destruction unto every evil altar working against me, in the name of Jesus.
40. I separate my life from all evil idols present in my place of birth, in the name of Jesus.
41. I claim my freedom from the consequences of idolatry, in the name of Jesus.
42. I break and cancel every covenant with any idol and the yokes attached to it, in the name of Jesus.
43. O God, arise and let every altar of my family idol be broken down, in the name of Jesus.
44. Every priest and priestess of family idols, lose your power and be defeated, in the name of Jesus.
45. Secret shrines of my family idols in my compound, be destroyed by fire, in the name of Jesus.
46. Every habitation of cruelty by family idols, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
47. Any tent of meeting erected for family idols in the past or present, be destroyed by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

SESSION FIVE — CLEANING THE FAMILY FOUNDATION

48. Every demon that has been invited by any family idol in my compound, be chased away, in the name of Jesus.
49. O God, arise and sanctify every nook and cranny of my compound with the blood of Jesus.
50. O God, arise and let Your angels search out the secret places of family idols in my compound, and let them be destroyed by fire, in the name of Jesus.
51. I repent from all ancestral idol worship, in the name of Jesus.
52. Every idol of my father's house, lose your hold over my life, in the name of Jesus.
53. Every strongman of the idol of my father's house, lose your power and die, in the name of Jesus.
54. I silence the evil cry of any idol fashioned against me, in the name of Jesus.
55. All consequences of ancestral idol worship upon my life, I wipe you off by the blood of Jesus.

SESSION SIX — COMPLETE DELIVERANCE AND FREEDOM

56. Holy Ghost fire, burn down all spiritual shrines of my father's house, in the name of Jesus.
57. Every oppression agenda of my family idol, die, in the name of Jesus.
58. Every blood speaking against my generational line, be silenced by the blood of Jesus.
59. Every idol power speaking against my destiny, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.
60. Every evil altar speaking against my family, be destroyed by the fire of God, in the name of Jesus.
61. Every ancestral dedication contrary to the will of God for my life, be cancelled by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
62. Every evil covenant connecting my family to idolatry, I renounce and break its hold over my life, in the name of Jesus.
63. Father, establish Your presence in my life, my family and my home, and let every power of darkness lose its hold completely, in the name of Jesus.

FAITH CONFESSION

I belong to Jesus Christ.

I will serve the living God.

I reject every form of idolatry.

I renounce every evil dedication.

I reject every evil covenant.

I break every connection with ancestral idolatry.

The blood of Jesus speaks for me.

The power of darkness shall not control my life.

Every evil altar speaking against me shall be silenced.

Every foundational bondage shall break.

My family shall serve the Lord.

My home shall belong to God.

My destiny shall not be controlled by idols.

My glory shall not be buried.

I am delivered from the power of darkness.

I am translated into the kingdom of God's dear Son.

In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION

I declare over your life in the name of Jesus Christ:

Every evil foundation working against your destiny shall be shaken.

Every family idol demanding your worship shall lose its power over you.

Every ancestral covenant contrary to the will of God shall be broken.

Every evil altar speaking against your life shall be silenced.

Every chain connecting your destiny to foundational darkness shall break.

Your glory shall come alive.

Your destiny shall arise.

Your family shall experience the mercy of God.

Every satanic dedication speaking against you shall be cancelled.

Every evil voice speaking from the foundation shall be silenced by the blood of Jesus.

The Lord shall separate you completely from every work of darkness.

You shall serve the living God.

You shall not return to the bondage from which Christ has delivered you.

It is your set time to celebrate, in Jesus' name. Amen.

CLOSING PRAYER

O Lord God of Elijah, arise and establish Your authority over my life and family. Let every power of idolatry, every evil altar, every ancestral covenant and every satanic influence contrary to Your will lose its hold.

Let the blood of Jesus speak over my life, my household and my destiny. Let every foundation that has been working against me be destroyed, and let the foundation of Christ be established in my life.

From this day forward, let my life bring glory to Your name.

In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
