Introduction

Moses became discouraged by the complaints of Israel, Elijah became weary after confronting the prophets of Baal, David strengthened himself in the Lord when everything seemed against him, and Job endured overwhelming suffering without losing his faith in God.

The good news is that discouragement does not have the final word. God is our refuge, strength, and ever-present help in times of trouble. No matter what has caused your discouragement—delayed answers to prayer, financial struggles, sickness, family problems, rejection, failure, or spiritual battles—God is able to renew your strength and restore your hope.
