Introduction
God never intended His children to live powerless lives. From the beginning of the New Testament Church, the Holy Spirit has empowered believers with spiritual gifts to glorify God, edify the Church, win souls, and defeat the works of darkness. Every born-again believer has the privilege of receiving and operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit according to God's will.
Unfortunately, many Christians remain spiritually inactive because they neither understand nor desire these gifts. Some are unaware that spiritual gifts are still available today, while others neglect the gifts God has already deposited within them. As a result, many struggle through life relying solely on human wisdom and natural ability instead of divine empowerment.
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are not given for personal pride or self-glory. They are given to reveal God's power, strengthen believers, bring healing, deliverance, encouragement, wisdom, and to advance the Kingdom of God.
Throughout the Scriptures, we see ordinary men becoming extraordinary because the Holy Spirit empowered them. Moses led Israel by divine power. Joshua conquered impossible battles. Elijah called down fire from heaven. Elisha performed remarkable miracles. The apostles healed the sick, cast out devils, and preached with boldness because they operated through the gifts of the Spirit.
The same Holy Spirit who empowered the early Church is still at work today. God still gives wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, interpretation, and every other spiritual gift according to His perfect will.
