COMMAND THE YEAR: 50 POWERFUL WARFARE PRAYERS WITH BIBLE VERSES

COMMAND THE YEAR: 50 POWERFUL WARFARE PRAYERS WITH BIBLE VERSES

KEY SCRIPTURE

Psalm 90:12–17

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.
Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.”

The beginning of a year is an important time to seek God, commit your plans into His hands, and pray concerning everything you expect to accomplish.

The Bible says:

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” — Proverbs 18:21

We must therefore be careful about what we speak over our lives, our families, our work, our businesses, our marriages, our health, our finances, our ministries, and our future.

This is not merely about making positive declarations. It is about bringing our desires and plans before God and standing upon His Word in prayer.

The Bible says:

“Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.” — Proverbs 16:3

As you pray these prayers, surrender the year completely to God and ask Him to establish His purpose for your life.

PRAYER SECTION

A. THANK GOD

Begin by thanking God for the gift of life, His mercy, His protection, and the things He will accomplish in your life throughout the year.

“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” — Psalm 118:1

B. CONFESS YOUR SINS

Confess your known and unknown sins before God. Ask for mercy, forgiveness, cleansing, and restoration.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9

You may also ask God to have mercy concerning wrong patterns, ungodly agreements, and anything in your family history that is contrary to His will.

C. QUALITY PRAISE AND WORSHIP

Spend time praising and worshipping God before entering into the warfare prayers.

Praise God for who He is, for what He has done, and for what He is about to do.

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise.” — Psalm 100:4

PREPARING YOUR HEART TO COMMAND THE YEAR

Before praying these prayers, do not approach God merely with a list of personal demands.

1. Surrender the year to God

Give God your plans, ambitions, relationships, finances, work, ministry, health, and future.

“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” — Psalm 37:5

2. Walk in obedience

Prayer and obedience should work together.

Ask God for grace to reject anything that will give the enemy an opportunity to interfere with your walk with Christ.

3. Guard your words

Do not continually speak defeat over yourself after praying for victory.

“Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.” — Proverbs 21:23

4. Pray consistently

Do not wait until trouble comes before seeking God.

Build your prayer life throughout the year.

5. Stand on God's Word

When circumstances appear contrary to your prayers, continue to trust God and stand upon His promises.

“Having done all, to stand.” — Ephesians 6:13
