Poverty is a state where people’s basic needs are not met. Any area you are not doing well, you are poor in that area. It could be financial poverty, marital poverty, material poverty, physical poverty, spiritual poverty, academic poverty, health poverty etc. But behind any poverty, there is a spirit

Poverty spirit is a terrible and stubborn spirit that put people and family in bondage and captivity and must be seriously dealt with. A lot of people are not suppose to be poor, they where created to have abundant wealth, success and breakthrough. But they still find themselves in the camp of poverty and lack because of the spirit of poverty.

Poverty is the for runner of the devil. When there is poverty in the land, death, sorrow, pains, bitterness, shame etc is inevitable and people kill each other for no reason. Poverty is one of the works of Satan that Jesus came to destroy. {1 John 3vs 8}

SIGNS OF THE SPIRIT OF POVERTY
1. Regular dream of been naked or walking bear footed
2. Dream of roaming about in the market place
3. When you are always broke
4. Selling and not getting results
5. Experiencing unexplainable loss of money
6. Wasting of money
7. When you are always been duped
8. Constantly been attack by armed robbers
9. Always been dismissed from your various places of work

WHY MUST POVERTY DIE?
1. Because poverty is not good. Proverbs 10:15 says, “The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, the destruction of the poor is their poverty.” So, the poverty of the poor man can kill him.. 
2. Poverty will make people run away from a believer. 
3. Poverty will make people to look down on our God.
4. Poverty is not one of the promises of God for His people. 
5. Poverty will make doing the will of God difficult for many people. Any time Jesus wanted food, He got it. If He was fasting, then He was fasting. 
6. Poverty, most times, delays the growth of a believer when the person cannot even buy Christian books and materials to help himself. 
7. Poverty hinders evangelism. A lot of people cry day and night wishing they could contribute to the work of God but they cannot because they do not have the money. 
8. Poverty bring shame and disgrace to people and family
9. Poverty opens room for sicknesses and diseases. A lot of sicknesses and diseases would have been prevented if poverty was not in place. When God blesses you and you build your own house or have your own apartment and have your toilet the way you want it, then you don’t have to share toilet seats with twenty- five tenants that could give you all kinds of infection. 
10. Poverty can be a source of serious temptation. 
11. Poverty is a reproach

WAY OUT
when you check your life and you find out that the spirit of poverty is in control, and then you need to resist it. Embark on aggressive fire prayers. Pray poverty destroying prayers. You must pray against the spirit of poverty with holy aggression. Some sicknesses are not ordinary. They are just ladders of poverty and you need to break them to pieces
