Introduction

A promotion may be followed by conflict.

When such things happen, it is understandable to become concerned.
However, not every difficulty that follows good news is necessarily a spiritual attack. Life contains ordinary challenges, unexpected circumstances, human mistakes and consequences that are not spiritual warfare.
The Bible nevertheless teaches believers to remain watchful, prayerful and spiritually prepared.
Jesus said:
John 16:33:
“In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Therefore, receiving good news should not make us fearful. It should make us grateful, prayerful and careful to protect what God has entrusted to us.

Why Can Trouble Follow Good News?
There are several possible reasons difficulties may appear after a breakthrough.

A new opportunity can introduce new demands, pressure and challenges.
3. Human opposition

The Bible teaches that believers should remain spiritually watchful and resist evil.
5. Poor preparation
Sometimes a person celebrates an opportunity without preparing adequately for the responsibilities attached to it.

Joseph
Joseph received dreams concerning his future, but his journey afterward included betrayal, slavery and imprisonment.
Yet those difficulties did not cancel God's purpose.

David
David was anointed to become king, but afterward he experienced intense opposition from Saul.
His anointing did not mean he would have no battles.

What to Do When Trouble Begins After Good News
Pray before panicking.
Do not immediately assume that every difficulty is demonic.
Give God thanks.
Thank Him for the good news while asking Him to preserve what He has given.
Protect your testimony.
Use wisdom concerning what information you share and with whom you share it.
Remain spiritually alert.
Continue praying and studying God's Word.
Deal with practical problems.
If there is a financial, medical, legal, relationship or professional issue, address it appropriately.
Refuse fear.
Fear can cause people to make poor decisions.
