Introduction
“Return to sender” is a common expression used in spiritual warfare prayers when a person is asking God to prevent an evil attack from accomplishing its intended purpose and to cause the wicked scheme to collapse upon itself.
The biblical principle behind this kind of prayer can be seen in passages where evil plans are overturned, wicked traps ensnare those who designed them, and destructive schemes return upon those who prepared them.
The important distinction is this:
Return-to-sender prayer is not a command for a Christian to physically harm another person.
Our confidence is in God as Judge and Defender.
When someone prays, “Every evil arrow fired against me, return to sender,” the prayer can be understood as:
