50 Powerful Prayers for Children to Make Godly Friends With Bible Verses
Key Scripture
Proverbs 13:20
“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
Introduction
The friends children choose can have a major influence on their character, behavior, values, confidence, decisions, and future. Good friends can encourage children to pursue wisdom, excellence, discipline, righteousness, and godliness. Wrong friendships, however, can expose children to destructive habits, rebellion, peer pressure, dishonesty, violence, and other harmful influences.
This is why parents should pray intentionally concerning the friendships and relationships surrounding their children.
We can pray that God will connect our children with friends who will encourage them to do what is right and help them grow into responsible, wise, godly people. We can also pray for protection from unhealthy relationships and negative influences.
These prayers are not about controlling a child's will. They are prayers for God's protection, wisdom, discernment, healthy relationships, positive influences, and godly guidance.

What the Bible Says About Friendship
The Bible teaches us to be careful about the people we allow to influence our lives.
Proverbs 13:20 says:
“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
1 Corinthians 15:33 warns:
“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”
Proverbs 27:17 says:
“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”
Proverbs 17:17 teaches:
“A friend loveth at all times.”
Therefore, parents should pray not only that their children will have friends, but that they will have the right friends.
