Introduction

The Bible teaches that the devil seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus Christ came to give us life in abundance (John 10:10). As Christians, we are called to stand firm in faith, resist evil, pray against every form of oppression, and trust in the delivering power of God.

In deliverance prayer, the expression satanic poisoning is sometimes used to describe a person's fear of spiritual contamination, evil influence, oppression, or attacks against their health, peace, family, and destiny. These prayers focus on rejecting evil, seeking God's protection, asking for healing, and standing on the authority of Jesus Christ.

Some people associate disturbing dreams about food, injections, animal bites, or strange encounters with spiritual attacks. However, a dream by itself does not prove that someone has been spiritually poisoned, that witchcraft has been used against them, or that they have a physical illness. Do not allow frightening dreams to fill your heart with fear or suspicion toward other people.

If you suspect that you have swallowed a harmful substance or have been exposed to a real poison, seek emergency medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting or attempt to treat suspected poisoning by drinking anointing oil or other substances. Prayer and appropriate medical care can go together.

What Is Poison?

In the physical sense, poison is a substance that can harm the body when it enters or comes into contact with it. Depending on the substance and the amount of exposure, poisoning can cause serious injury or death.

In spiritual warfare teaching, people may also use the word poison figuratively to describe anything they believe is corrupting their peace, faith, relationships, character, or progress.

The Bible calls believers to reject evil, guard their hearts, and trust in God's power to preserve them.

How Do People Describe Satanic Poisoning in Deliverance Teaching?

The following are situations sometimes discussed in deliverance ministries. They may be brought before God in prayer, but they should not automatically be interpreted as proof of a spiritual attack.

1. Food and Drink

Some people report dreams about eating or drinking something strange and become afraid that it represents spiritual contamination. You can pray for freedom from fear, protection, and peace without assuming that a dream has caused physical harm.

Psalm 34:4:
“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

2. Sexual Encounters

Disturbing dreams involving sexual encounters may leave a person feeling anxious, ashamed, or spiritually troubled. Such dreams do not establish that a demon or another person has transferred a disease or taken someone's virtues.

Pray for purity, peace of mind, healthy relationships, and freedom from fear. Seek medical advice for actual symptoms or concerns about sexually transmitted infections.

1 Thessalonians 4:3:
“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication.”

3. Dreams of Injections, Bites, or Injuries

Dreams about injections, animal bites, broken glass, knives, or stepping on strange objects can be frightening. They are not evidence that poison has entered the bloodstream or that a disease has been planted in the body.

Pray for God's protection and calmness. If an actual bite, injection, wound, or exposure occurs, obtain appropriate medical care.

Psalm 91:2:

4. Personal Belongings

Some deliverance teachings discuss hair, clothing, sanitary products, or other personal belongings being used in harmful rituals. If you have a concrete concern about privacy, theft, tampering, or personal safety, take reasonable practical precautions and report credible threats to the appropriate authorities.

Do not assume that an illness, setback, or disturbing dream proves that someone has used your belongings against you.

5. Enchantments and Evil Words

The Bible warns against occult practices and teaches believers to remain faithful to God. Christians can pray against intimidation, manipulation, curses, and words intended to discourage or harm them.

“Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel.”

6. Communion and Fellowship

Do not allow fear of invisible contamination to prevent you from worshipping God in peace.

A dream about kissing or hugging does not prove that a person has spiritually contaminated you.

9. Gifts

10. Evil Pots and Other Occult Imagery

Some deliverance teachings use the imagery of evil pots, cauldrons, and people being symbolically cooked to describe oppression or attacks against a person's life. You can bring these fears before God in prayer without concluding that an unseen pot is physically affecting your body temperature or causing a disease.

Psalm 46:1:
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Possible Effects of Fear, Oppression, and Affliction

When people feel spiritually attacked or threatened, they may experience fear, confusion, discouragement, sleeplessness, loss of peace, or difficulty concentrating. Physical symptoms can also occur for many different reasons and should not automatically be attributed to witchcraft or spiritual poisoning.
