INTRODUCTION

There are battles that disappear after a short prayer, while others appear to persist despite repeated prayers.

These are the kinds of battles many believers describe as stubborn battles—persistent situations that seem to resist progress, breakthrough, restoration and peace.

A stubborn battle may manifest as repeated disappointment, prolonged delay, persistent financial difficulty, recurring family problems, spiritual oppression, attacks against destiny, unusual limitations or repeated setbacks.

But no battle is greater than the power of God.

Jeremiah 32:27 says:

“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”

God is able to confront the strongest opposition and make a way where there appears to be no way.

WHAT ARE STUBBORN BATTLES?

Stubborn battles are persistent challenges that appear difficult to overcome.

They may involve:

• repeated failure;
• prolonged delay;
• foundational struggles;
• spiritual oppression;
• persistent financial difficulties;
• family problems;
• attacks against destiny;
• repeated disappointment;
• closed doors;
• stagnation;
• strongholds;
• loss and restoration;
• spiritual weakness;
• recurring affliction.

However, prayer should not produce fear.

Prayer should strengthen your faith in God.

Psalm 34:19 says:

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”

GOD CAN BREAK STUBBORN STRONGHOLDS

2 Corinthians 10:4 says:

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.”

This means that when a situation appears deeply rooted, you can bring it before God in persistent prayer.
