50 Prayer Points Against Demonic Oppression in the Family

50 Prayer Points Against Demonic Oppression in the Family

Introduction

When spiritual battles affect a family, the consequences can sometimes appear in different areas of life.

There may be persistent conflict, unusual fear, recurring setbacks, unexplained division, repeated disappointments, destructive habits, financial difficulties, or other problems that seem to keep returning.

However, not every family problem is necessarily caused by demonic activity. Some difficulties have emotional, relational, financial, medical, or practical causes that also require appropriate attention.

As Christians, we can bring every troubling situation before God in prayer and ask Him for wisdom, protection, healing, deliverance, and restoration.

The Bible says:

“As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15

Your family can become a place of prayer, peace, love, unity, and God's presence.

When you pray against spiritual oppression, do not pray from fear.

Pray from faith in the power and authority of Jesus Christ.

Key Bible Passages

Psalm 91:1–2

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

This passage reminds us that God is our refuge and our protection.

Isaiah 54:17

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.”

God's people can trust Him for protection against every weapon formed against them.

Luke 10:19

Jesus said:

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.”

2 Thessalonians 3:3

“But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.”

Psalm 34:7

“The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.”

Joshua 24:15

“As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Detailed Biblical Teaching

1. Bring Your Family Under God's Authority

The first step is to recognize that your family belongs to God.

Joshua declared:

“As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

A family that deliberately seeks God is choosing to establish its home around God's Word rather than fear.

Pray for your family members individually.

Commit their lives, decisions, relationships, health, work, studies, marriages, and future into God's hands.

2. Do Not Allow Fear to Control Your Family

Spiritual battles can produce fear.

One person becomes afraid.

Another becomes suspicious.

Arguments increase.

Everyone begins expecting something bad to happen.

Do not allow fear to become the atmosphere of your home.

The Bible says:

“God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

Pray for God's peace to rule your household.

3. Pray Against Division and Strife

A family can become spiritually and emotionally weak when there is constant division.

Jesus said:

“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation.” — Matthew 12:25

Pray against hatred, bitterness, unforgiveness, unnecessary arguments, jealousy, suspicion, and persistent conflict.

Ask God to restore communication, wisdom, humility, forgiveness, and love.

4. Stand Against Spiritual Oppression

The Bible teaches believers to resist the devil.

James 4:7 says:

“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

You can pray confidently against every spiritual influence that is contrary to God's will.

Do not magnify the enemy.

Magnify God.

God is greater than every spiritual battle.

5. Pray for Protection Over Your Children

Children need prayer and guidance.

Pray over their minds, friendships, education, character, decisions, future, and spiritual development.

Ask God to protect them from harmful influences and give them wisdom to make good decisions.

Isaiah 54:13 says:

“And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.”

6. Break Destructive Family Patterns

Some families experience repeated patterns across generations.

These may include:

  • Constant conflict
  • Addiction
  • Financial irresponsibility
  • Abusive relationships
  • Repeated abandonment
  • Hatred
  • Unforgiveness
  • Destructive habits
  • Persistent failure

Do not simply assume that every pattern is demonic.

Ask God for wisdom to identify what must change.

Where there are sinful habits, seek repentance.

Where there are unhealthy relationships, establish appropriate boundaries.

Where there is spiritual opposition, pray and stand firmly in Christ.

7. Pray Against Persistent Fear and Anxiety

Fear can affect an entire household.

One person's anxiety can influence everyone around them.

Bring those fears before God.

Philippians 4:6–7 teaches believers to bring their requests to God through prayer and thanksgiving.

Ask God for peace that surpasses human understanding.

8. Pray for Peace in the Home

Your home should not constantly be filled with anger, shouting, suspicion, and hostility.

Pray for peace.

Pray for wisdom.

Pray for patience.

Pray for understanding.

Pray for the grace to speak words that heal rather than words that destroy.

Proverbs 15:1 says:

“A soft answer turneth away wrath.”

9. Pray for Divine Protection

Psalm 91 is a powerful passage to read and pray over your household.

Ask God to protect your family members wherever they are.

Pray for protection during travel, work, school, business, sleep, and daily activities.

Trust God without becoming consumed by fear.

10. Pray for Restoration

If your family has already experienced serious difficulties, do not assume that the story has ended.

God can restore.

He can heal relationships.

He can restore peace.

He can give wisdom.

He can open new doors.

He can bring people back to Him.

Pray for restoration in every area where your family has suffered loss.
