50 Powerful Prayers for Good News With Bible Verses

Psalm 126:1–2 (KJV)
“When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing...”
There are seasons when a person desperately needs good news—a positive medical report, employment, financial breakthrough, admission, marriage, restoration, business breakthrough, family breakthrough, or an answer to a long-standing prayer.
The God who turned captivity into laughter is still able to change situations and give His children reasons to rejoice.
Introduction
Waiting for good news can be emotionally and spiritually difficult.
You may have submitted an application and be waiting for a response. You may be expecting a breakthrough in your finances, family, career, business, ministry, marriage, or another important area of your life.
Sometimes the waiting becomes so long that disappointment begins to replace expectation.
But the Bible shows us that God can suddenly change a situation.
Joseph received unexpected promotion after years of suffering. Hannah received the child she had prayed for. Mordecai experienced a dramatic reversal. Bartimaeus received his sight. Peter experienced a miraculous deliverance from prison.
God is able to bring good news after a season of waiting.
However, praying for good news does not mean demanding a particular outcome from God. We submit our desires to His wisdom and trust Him to work according to His perfect will.
These prayers combine faith, spiritual warfare, divine favor, open doors, restoration, breakthrough, and thanksgiving.
Pray them with expectation.
Biblical Examples
1. Hannah Received Good News
Hannah had endured years of barrenness and provocation.
She cried to God, and eventually her prayer was answered.
1 Samuel 1:27 (KJV):
“For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him.”
Her long season of waiting became a testimony.
2. Joseph Received a Sudden Change
Joseph moved from prison to the palace in a remarkably short period.
Genesis 41:14 (KJV):
“Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon...”
His situation changed suddenly.
3. Mordecai Experienced Reversal
Mordecai was facing a serious threat, but God reversed the situation and brought him into public honor.

“Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai...”
4. Bartimaeus Received His Good News
Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus despite opposition from the crowd.
Jesus stopped and answered him.

Practical Ways to Prepare for Good News
1. Keep Praying
Do not abandon prayer simply because the answer has not yet appeared.
2. Keep Your Faith in God
Do not allow delay to convince you that God has forgotten you.
3. Do What You Can Practically
If you are waiting for employment, continue applying. If you are building a business, continue working wisely. Prayer should be accompanied by responsible action.
4. Reject Negative Confessions
Do not continually declare that nothing good will happen to you.
5. Guard Your Heart Against Envy
Someone else's testimony is not proof that God has forgotten you.
6. Ask for Wisdom
Sometimes the answer requires you to recognize an opportunity or make an important decision.
7. Be Ready for Your Testimony
Prepare yourself to act when the opportunity arrives.
8. Do Not Force Wrong Doors
Not every opportunity is from God.
9. Continue Giving Thanks
Thank God before the answer as an expression of faith.
10. Trust God's Timing
A delayed answer is not necessarily a denied answer.
