INTRODUCTION
Household wickedness refers, in this prayer context, to evil opposition, harmful patterns, spiritual attacks or wicked influences that a person may associate with their family environment, family history or people within the household.
Such battles may be expressed through repeated family problems, persistent conflict, destructive patterns, oppression, unusual setbacks, attacks against progress, or opposition against a person's peace and destiny.
The Bible, however, teaches us not to place our ultimate confidence in human strength. Our help comes from God.
Psalm 121:2 says:
“My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”
These prayers are therefore directed to God for deliverance, protection, wisdom, restoration and victory.
Do not allow fear of family members to control you. Pray with faith in God and allow Him to deal with every situation according to His wisdom.
WHAT DOES HOUSEHOLD WICKEDNESS MEAN?
Household wickedness can be understood broadly as opposition or harmful activity connected, in the believer's understanding, with the household or family environment.
This may include prayer concerns about:
- Repeated destructive family patterns.
- Persistent family conflict.
- Witchcraft or occultic opposition.
- Evil covenants.
- Harmful ancestral patterns.
- Attacks against family unity.
- Repeated stagnation and delay.
- Opposition against marriage.
- Attacks against children.
- Repeated financial hardship.
- Attacks against one's progress and opportunities.
- Spiritual oppression associated with family history.
However, every family problem should not automatically be assumed to have a spiritual cause. Practical, relational, financial, medical and legal issues should also be addressed wisely where appropriate.
The purpose of these prayers is to seek God for intervention in every area of concern.
BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF GOD'S DELIVERANCE
1. Joseph
Joseph experienced severe opposition from members of his own family, yet God preserved His purpose for his life.
Genesis 50:20
“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good.”
2. David
David faced opposition from people close to him and powerful enemies, but God preserved him.
Psalm 18:17
“He delivered me from my strong enemy.”
3. Moses
Moses faced opposition even among his own people, but God continued to establish His purpose.
Exodus 14:14
“The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”
4. Esther
Esther stood against a wicked plan that threatened her people, and God brought deliverance.
Esther 4:14
God positioned Esther for such a time as that.
5. Jesus Christ
Herod sought to destroy the child Jesus, but God preserved Him.
Matthew 2:13
God warned Joseph and provided a way of escape.
These examples remind us that opposition does not have the final word over a life surrendered to God.

Before you begin:
- Submit yourself completely to God.
- Ask God for mercy and forgiveness.

- Ask God to expose whatever needs to be exposed.
- Pray the Word of God.

- Ask God for wisdom concerning family relationships.
